How to Fail as a Creator
The real reason you keep falling off and how to stop sabotaging your own success
Most people think they need more strategy.
A better plan. A new system. Another course đ
But you donât need more.
You need less.
Less distraction.
Less dopamine.
Less of the stuff that slowly kills your drive.
Thatâs what this oneâs about.
If youâre new here, Iâm Tony and this is Content King, where I teach you how to create content that actually converts into sales.
And take it from me, I have 4 kids, worked full time when I started and made over $200k in my first 6 months selling courses online.
Thatâs not me saying you can have those results, itâs me saying: Iâve been there.
So take these pieces of advice and trust that theyâve worked for many before you.
1. Limit your vices đ„đ±đđ
I know this sounds extreme, but extreme success often requires extreme sacrifice.
If you want to grow your audience, you need focus.
And the world does not want you to be focused.
So hereâs what I did.
I cut alcohol down to once a week. THE HORROR đ± (I know)
When I drink, Iâm tired. When Iâm tired, I donât create.
And in this game, consistency is the only criteria when youâre starting off.
And this goes beyond alcohol.
Whatever vice youâve got đ weed, porn, sugar, scrolling đ be honest about it.
Because when business starts to suck, or youâre bored, or you hit that âthis isnât workingâ wall⊠your brainâs going to reach for the easy thing.
Not your dream. Not your next video.
The comfort đ„đ±
So give yourself a real shot at this.
Limit the things that pull you away from who youâre becoming.
To be someone youâve never been, you must do things youâve never done.
2. Trade comfort đŠfor caffeine âïž
This oneâs for the parents especially.
Because letâs be real⊠our lives donât start until 8 or 9PM (đ
right guys?)⊠right?
Itâs tempting to grab dessert, throw on Netflix, and call it a night.
But after that? Youâre not working. Youâre done.
So I made a deal with myself:
No sugar after dinner. Coffee instead. I say donât get tired, get wired.
Is this healthy? No.
Is it temporary? You bet.
Yeah, I know â coffee at 7PM sounds insane.
But when youâre building something big, sometimes you need to override tired.
So instead of winding down, Iâd wire up.
Write scripts. Edit. Post. Study. Sleep.
You donât have to copy that exactly, but pay attention to what kills your momentum and replace it with something that fuels it âïžâïžâïž đđđ
3. Stop scrolling
This oneâs obvious, but itâs also the one most people ignore.
Youâll have nights filled with promise⊠quiet house, hours ahead of you⊠and then BOOM đ„ Itâs 1:30AM. Your neck hurts. Youâve watched forty TikToks and created zero.
If you want to scroll for fun, thatâs fine.
But do it on purpose.
Set a timer for ten minutes.
TikTok literally has one built in. Use it.
And when you open the app, say what youâre there to do. Out loud.
âYouâre checking this account to see if they posted. Thatâs it.
GO STRAIGHT THEREâ
Because if you donât anchor your intention, youâll get sucked into everyone elseâs.
Get off your phone when itâs time to work.
Put it in another room if you have to.
That little device will destroy every goal you have if you let it.
4. Stop caring what people think
This oneâs tough, but itâs everything.
If you care more about what other people think than what you want, you will never post.
Nobody actually cares what you do with your life.
And if they do, theyâre not doing enough with their own đđŒ
If you saw someone from high school posting online, trying to grow a brand, youâd probably say, âGood for them.â AND YOUâD MOVE ON
So why assume theyâre judging you?
And if they are? Then this isnât for them.
Thatâs when your WHY matters most.
Because before you post that âcringeyâ video, you have to ask:
Whatâs worse?
Being called a pyramid scheme by a stranger ⊠or losing your home?
Whose opinion matters more? Patty down the street seeing your video and chuckling⊠or your kids who wonder why youâre never home for dinner?
When you finally get honest about that, their opinions stop mattering.
Completely.
Final thoughts
No homework today.
Just choices.
Go hide your alcohol.
Push the ice cream to the back of the freezer.
Set up the timer on your phone.
And get clear on your WHY.
Because everything around you is designed to make you quit and to keep you comfortable, distracted, and safe.
Donât fall for it.
Your ambitions canât grow in the same soil as your distractions đ„
(I JUST THOUGH OF THIS AND DAMN WAS IT GOOD)
